Many counties in the US have already hit 1.5 C rise and some cases even 2.0 C rise. You’ll recall, the 2015 Paris Accord on Climate Change, and all the future commitments countries promised there, were to keep global warming “well below 2 C.
1.5 and 2.0 C rises already have happened in California, Wisconsin, and possibly in your state. So there is more reason to act now so won’t be so much worse in near term future.
