Dear Earth Holders,

We are invited to stand with the Earth and to protect the rivers. On June 5-8 in northern Minnesota there will be a Treaty People Gathering, a call to action of historic resistance towards the construction of the Enbridge Line 3 tar sands oil pipeline which crosses through Anishinaabe treaty land and the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

This is an opportunity for our sanghas to engage in compassionate direct action to support indigenous-led resistance in response to environmental and racial injustice. We are called upon, wherever part of the world we may be in and from whatever walk of life we come from, to bring our bodies to the frontlines. As we bring our bodies as an act of engaged practice, we send a message that the days of tar sands pipelines are over, and we need as many bodies and voices as possible to do this. If you feel called to join Water Protectors from around the world for 4 days of protecting what we love, please follow the steps below:

  1. To participate in the Treaty People Gathering, sign up at https://treatypeoplegathering.com
  2. Register for an Orientation Callhttps://form.jotform.com/211376260018145 and/ or watch the recording of the National Call Recording: to learn about TPG as mass action in MN June 5-8
  3. To connect with EHC members on the ground, we suggest planning to stay at Northern Pines Camp near Park Rapids. There will be a multi faith gathering there. Please see: https://www.mnipl.org/event/treaty-people-gathering/
  4. There will be an inter-sangha gathering of people from various Buddhist sanghas in the Twin Cities as part of the multi faith gathering. This is an opportunity for Earth Holders to participate in the gathering with fellow Buddhist practitioners. Please admin@earthholder.org for information on how to connect with Earth Holders at the Treaty People Gathering.
